Our Story
Daisy and Zarafa is a jewelry company dedicated to designing hand-made statement pieces for women who cultivate everyday elegance in their lives. Our signature designs are based on the unique pairing of stones, gems and metals to create a bold look that asserts a powerful and dignified beauty wearable day or night, at work or at play.
About The Founders.
We are two sisters from New York City, Jyoti and Lina. We inherited our love for jewelry from the generations of women in our Indian family. We each have had long careers that have placed us at speaking engagements, on air, and in boardrooms. We know how important it is to define our own personal and professional images to navigate our professions. And our play and relaxation time is just as important. We love to accessorize our stay-at -home outfits with jewelry that evokes beauty and ease as well as create pieces to empower when in our other myriad of capacities.
Distilling all of these things - our heritage, our insight on what it means to be a successful woman in the workplace and society, and our love for play - we are creating a line of unique pieces that we love and that we hope will inspire you to make a statement, while adding extra beauty and affordable luxury to your life.
About Our Name.
"Daisy" is the furry and beloved dynamo of our family. A gorgeous blend of corgi and spaniel, she was rescued by Social Tees Animal Rescue in NYC. Daisy is our inspiration with her unconditional love and loyalty - core values that we try to infuse into all our work - and she's so much fun.
"Zarafa" is the nickname of Daisy's human - who is Jyoti's daughter and Lina's niece. When she was growing up into the tall and elegant young woman she is now, we affectionately called her our "giraffe." Zarafa is the Hindi/Urdu word for giraffe. We are inspired by the unconditional love that exists between Daisy and her human, our Zarafa, to put beauty out into the world.
About The Pieces.
We design each statement piece. They are each handcrafted by lead designer Jyoti Srivastava in New York City using precious and semiprecious stones and metals. We believe in the alchemical qualities of stones and pair stones to enhance their power and yours.
